Fear is a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc. whether the threat is real or imagine; the feeling or condition of being afraid.

Expression of Fear is clearly shown in this cartoon, when a person is afraid or scared, his eyes will pop up, and a sort of worry where the eyebrows go up. Also fear is also an expression mixed with scare which makes the mouth wide open.  Also to bring the unhappiness in the face, the curves from the nose on both side of the mouth shows how it can further mix with the image. If you see the picture closely few thin lines below the eyes shows a feeling of real pain. Also during fear the hairs will go up, which is shown in the picture.  If you have observed a cat during fear you would have seen that the hairs go up.
